Male Dog aged 2 years.
Rocket is a 2 yr old, 35 pound mixed breed boy looking for his forever home! Rocket came to us as an owner surrender due to needing major surgery that was very costly. This little boy is so lucky to be alive! After undergoing an abdominal surgery to remove foreign material from his intestines he went home with his foster mom. Within 12 hours he was back at the hospital and had become septic so he was rushed to Iowa state vet hospital for another abdominal surgery. He was hospitalized for a total of 10 days between the 1st and 2nd surgeries! His foster mom got him home again and he was on the road to recovery. After fully recovering from surgery and having 4 inches of intestines removed, Rocket very quickly proved that he was ready to live life to the fullest!! Rocket is full of energy and absolutely LOVES fetch. He will fetch anything you throw but loves ball and frisbee the most. He is a ravenous eater and loves food almost as much as fetch. He also really loves to snuggle really close to his people. After getting this boy out and giving him the exercise he needs, he is nothing but cuddles. Rocket is great with the other dogs in his foster home and has met several dogs outside of the home that he plays great with too! He still needs to learn not to pull on the leash on walks but otherwise knows some basic commands. He is kennel trained but can be noisy when he hasn’t gotten the proper energy release.
